I was able to download/install Google Desktop on my Eee! I did a manual install by adding deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb stable non-free to my sources.list file and then issuing the commandd "apt-get update" at the Terminal to update the packages, then finally issuing the command apt-get install google-desktop-linux to start the download and installation. To run Google Desktop, I again went to Terminal and issue "gdlinux &" and that's it!
Google Desktop is still indexing my SSD and SD storage but so far, this application is running fine on my Eee.
