ASUS Computer International (“ASUS”) recently received feedback from one of its valued customers with questions concerning the purpose of a seal stating, “Warranty Void If Removed” over the access door to the single SODIMM slot on some models of the ASUS Eee PC. ASUS wishes to assure its customers that merely breaking or removing this kind of seal will not void the ASUS Limited Warranty.ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
It's official! Asus has published a statement basically saying that mere RAM upgrade on the Eee PC will *not* void its warranty. This opens the Eee PC up for people, like me, simply refuses to install Windows XP with its stock 512Mb RAM (I have model 701). However, I'm having so much fun using this Eee's bundled Xandrox Linux that I'm now having 2nd thoughts about installing WinXP at all...
